Federal Work Study

The Federal Work Study (FWS) Program provides jobs for undergraduate students with financial need, allowing you to earn money to help pay educational expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study whenever possible.

Payment from your Work Study award will be made as you work, rather than in a lump sum; therefore, these funds will not be available to pay expenses such as tuition and fees at the beginning of the semester. FWS employees are paid twice a month according to the university’s pay schedule, and most work study students usually earn an amount slightly higher than the federal minimum wage.
